Ecological Oasis in 45 Years is a 45-year masterplan that transforms the Gin Drinkers Bay into the pioneer scientific research center for sustainability technologies and wildlife-friendly health hub, addressing the problems of degraded ecosystem, aging population and high unemployment rate. Based on the idea of sustainability, this proposal considers the ecosystem, community and local economy as the key forces to gain sources for development and motivate the district enhancement. New local economic model, which focuses on financial permaculture, recycling and reuse of waste, and scientific innovation, are proposed for the site to generate job opportunities and resources for the other programs continuously. As community is the core of a district, this proposal also emphasizes on changing the residents’ behaviors through soft programming and facilitate the implementation of the programs.
